DE-MYSTIFYING THE FUNERAL INDUSTRY:
Are you interested in knowing the steps that happen from the moment of a loved one’s death to their burial or interment? What is required by law? What happens at the funeral home behind the scenes? Timelines, types of urns and caskets, pre-arranging, pre-paying, death benefits and survivor’s benefits are some areas to be covered. Brent Metz from Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services will be coming to offer this overview and to answer questions that consumers seek to know after church on March 11. This is a new funeral home owned by Kevin Almassy and Brent Metz. Both have worked in the funeral industry locally for many years. Bring your lunch.

FAIR TRADE COFFEE:
St. James has made the decision to serve only Fair Trade coffee.
This decision was made to help assure that coffee farmers receive a fair price for their product. Fair Trade coffee is more expensive.
As a means of supporting our decision and also offering the congregation to the opportunity to use Fair Trade coffee at home,
12 oz bags will be available ( in room 9) for $10.00/bag.

FAITH FRIENDS:
The Pastoral Care Committee is looking for a few people to be part of a “buddy system” for members who cannot get out to church and would appreciate a monthly visit or telephone call. It is a chance to make a new friend and offer support. This is a 6 month pilot project which we will evaluate in June. Call Priscilla Fries if you would to get involved at 543-6473 or email at jpfries@accesscomm.ca
